Christopher Coller, D.O. is a new and long anticipated member of our Integrative Healthcare Center team. As the son of Dr. Gary Coller, he considers himself to have had a very unique and advantageous perspective as he has undergone his medical training.

His extensive exposure to both functional and traditional medicine paradigms has enabled him to share in his father’s legacy of combining the best of traditional medicine with a desire to seek out the best of alternative and complementary therapies.

Dr. Coller’s training has allowed him to study under a number of the best doctors in the area from a variety of primary and specialty fields. He is a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and has completed his Family Medicine residency training at MetroHealth Hospital in Byron Center, MI. He has training in the management and prevention of chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes/metabolic syndrome, heart disease, COPD, and many more. He is also trained in the treatment of a host of acute issues from migraines to ingrown toenails. Dr. Coller has experience in general pediatrics, skin lesion removal, and osteopathic manual techniques.

As mentioned above, Dr. Coller has sought to develop both an open-minded, yet educated and scientific approach to delivering health care. Sharing in the values of the IHC, he holds a particular interest in nutrition, intestinal health and detoxification. Furthermore, Dr. Coller continually seeks to implement the “bio-psycho-social-spiritual” model of holistic health care, as he believes it yields the best results in improving the overall health and wellbeing of his patients.

Finally, Dr. Coller has had a number of international and cultural experiences that have helped shaped him as a patient-sensitive physician. Having an interest in language, Dr. Coller studied Spanish at CEPE University in Guadalajara, Mexico. As a medical student, he spent time learning from physicians at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Blantyre, Malawi. He has also been a member of several medical mission teams that have served in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. He has come to find great joy in serving and building relationships with people of all different cultures and life situations. Dr. Coller hopes to continue to use medicine to serve at home and abroad.
